Women on the Water (WoW)
Women on the Water (WoW) brings women together to build sailing skills, gain confidence, and enjoy time on the water. Whether you have previous sailing experience or are currently taking lessons at MCSC, WoW offers a welcoming environment to practice, learn, and sail with a great group of women.
Practice sails are led by Captain Leigh and take place aboard our Friendship Sloop Persistence or another boat from our fleet, depending on conditions and availability. Small groups provide plenty of opportunity to participate, practice boat handling, and learn from one another.
WoW is also about building community. After a sail, participants are welcome to gather, share a snack, and spend time with fellow sailors. We encourage our participants to bring their ideas and help shape the future of Women on the Water at MCSC.
Classroom Sessions
WoW also offers classroom learning designed to bring you from the classroom to the cockpit. Topics may include reading the wind, sail trim, boat handling and maneuvering, navigation, weather, and other practical sailing skills. Sessions are designed as individual modules, so you can join when your schedule allows.
Looking Ahead to 2027
